In our continuing efforts to provide the highest standard of care to our clients at Bay Dental, we are proud to offer oral cancer screenings in all of our dental exams and cleaning appointments. Routine check-ups, including an assessment of the whole mouth, are essential in the early detection of cancerous and precancerous conditions.
Our hygienists perform a thorough visual and physical palpation inspection of the oral cavity as well as the external head and neck surfaces. We are looking to find any abnormal tissue or growths, abnormal lymph nodes and salivary glands and also check the sinuses and temporomandibular joint.
If we discover any areas of concern, we will inform the patient and proceed with the appropriate steps.
